Six years ago, I had a drug overdose. As a result of this, I am now living in Madison Manor Nursing Home in Madison, Alabama. I have had ups and downs during these six years but everyday I continue to improve. My communication skills are returning and my speech is coming back! I keep up with sports, still love to listen to music, go to the movies once a week and have activities planned most mornings. I would really appreciate having visitors and would love to hear about you and your families. If you call the nursing home first (256-772-9243) they'll be able to tell you about my days activities. Or, you can call my mom, Cynthia, anytime at 256-520-2360! My family and I really appreciate how many people have expressed their caring and concern for me and what is going on in our lives. I miss the good ole days and would love ANY contact from my friends from highschool. Even if you live out of town, the people that work here at the nursing home will bring me my mail so I can hear how everyone is doing-I'm a great listener and really enjoy learning about all the latest and greatest in my friends lives. By the way, this message is being posted for me by my friend, Teri Roberson (Folgmann). You may also reach her at 256-658-8081. Hope you all are doing well and hope to see some of you soon! Elbert
