Hugh S. Montgomery

I graduated from UAH in 1979 with my BSEE degree. I worked over 40 years and then retired at the end of 2021.

I went out for the track team my senior year because I did not like my 6th period class. The coach was surprised because I had never been on the track team ever. I managed to jump my height before the end of the year and became the only high jumper after everyone else developed shin splints.

I have lived in Florida, Texas, Illinois, California, and Arizona, but mostly in Alabama. Other than Alabama, my favorite place to live was Arizona because there are so many golf courses.

I have been to Peru, New Zealand, China, Korea, Malaysia, Germany, and Denmark on business trips. I took a trip out west in the fall to see Arches, Zion, and Bryce Canyon national parks. I also saw Horseshoe Bend, Glen Canyon Dam, Antelope Canyon and Monument Valley. I have seen natural history museums in Washington DC, Los Angeles, Boston, and Chicago.

I play golf and lift weights sometimes.
