Kathy (Kathryn Louise) Kromis passed away at the age of 33, no details given, 9 March 1989 in Logan Cache Utah. She was married to a Mr. J Howard Taylor at the time and had three sons, James Allen, Joshua Howard, and Joseph Adam.

When I was growing up, the Kromis family was good friends with my family and I spent many weekends playing with Kathy's older brothers Mark and Andy. I was also friends with Kathy and she once took a trip to Guatemala with my mother and I. I remember this trip well. We were both about twelve years old. At some point in the vacation I got fresh and tried to steal a kiss from her while we were both hanging out on a backyard swingset and was promptly (and rightly so) slapped in the face. She was the first female ever, in my life, to slap me in the face for romantic reasons (but not the last). I always thought Kathy and her brothers were pretty cool and I stayed friends with her, though we never dated, through the end of HS, after which I lost touch with her and her family.

Her father passed away a year later in 1990, reasons unknown, and her older brother Andrew recently passed away in Huntsville in 2012 at the age of 58. I think he was a 1972 Grissom student. I came across the details of her obituary after reading about her brother's death.

Can anyone recall - I seem to remember that Kathy also went into the Army just after high school?

------

I have now confirmed that Kathy Kromis enlisted in the Army in 1975 and was discharged in 1976 after serving for 14 months.

Any other details of Kathy's life would be appreciated if any one has something to add.
