After Graduation from Bonneville, I packed up and jetted up north to Moscow ID. While attending the University of Idaho, I was accepted into the Moscow Fire Department as a Resident Firefighter, and later became an EMT. I worked as a fire fighter/medic for a few years, 7 to be exact. I graduated from U of I in 1995 with a degree in Microbiology, and was given an opportunity to start a career in medical research. I helped coordinate many clinical trials, for Parke-Davis, and Astra-Zeneca in the areas of Diabetes, and Heart Disease. This lead to lots of traveling, and opportunities to see places I probably would have not seen. My golf clubs never were to far away, and I was humbled by many courses all over the United States, including Torrey Pines, Pebble Beach, and Olympic Club. After a few years of traveling and living out of a suit case, I decided to refocus my efforts towards practicing medicine and moved back to Montana, were I was accepted at Rocky Mountain College, in the Physician Assistant Program. Upon completion of my program, I did a Fellowship in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, that lead me to my first job in Wenatchee, Wa., at Central Washington Hospital. Two years later I moved to California to work in a high risk Cardiothoracic and Vascular program, at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto CA. What a culture shock!!! My Spanish actually became somewhat tolerable. I wish I hadn’t taken French in High School…Aside from all the daily work and endless hours of call, I spent countless hours hiking and climbing in Yosemite National Park, kayaking off the California coast, wine tasting in Napa, and yes my wife(I meet her on the job). I gave in and asked for my Melissa’s hand on Christmas Eve of 2004, and we were married three months later. Melissa and I were blessed with a beautiful daughter Graycie Ann in 2005. I have also been blessed with Melissa’s daughter Olivia “Ollie” who was part of this wonderful package I have been so fortunate to be apart of. We decided in2006 to move away from the central valley of California and I loaded up the truck and moved to Montana were our family currently resides. I have worked at Billings Clinic in the Department of General Thoracic and Vascular Surgery for 3 plus year, and have enjoyed raising my family, hunting, and on occasion get some fishing and golfing in on the side.
