After High School I attended Ricks College for one spring semester. That next summer I received my mission call to Fortaleza, Brazil. I returned home two years later and met my future wife Tami Hale (an Idaho Falls Tiger!) in West Yellowstone, Montana. She was performing with my sister at the Playmill Theatre. We were married four months later and continued our education at Ricks and then off to BYU in Provo. Tami graduated in Elementary Education and I in Art Education (a couple of teachers). We both found jobs in the Idaho Falls area. Tami taught for 3 years. One year at Longfellow Elementary and 2 years at Taylorview Jr. High and I spent 7 years at Clair E. Gale Jr. High and then one year at Idaho Falls High School teaching Art.
A big change in our lives happened a couple of years ago when I interviewed in Afton, Wyoming for an elementary art teaching job. I was hired, moved to Afton and built a new home. We love it here and I have found Wyoming to my liking (see attached photos below). My job is great! I teach art to every elementary kid in Star Valley (over 1300 kids)! I cover four elementary schools grades k-6. In two of the schools I am the art on the cart guy and the other two I have my own room.
I have four wonderful kids. JaeLyn (deceased), Autym (10), Haydn (9), and Norrah (3). JaeLyn, our first born, died in her sleep at 21 months of age. This was, needless to say, a life changing event that left us stronger in our faith a determination to be better people…
