I've been belly dancing since 2002; performing since 2003; teaching since 2007. I perform Tribal Fusion and World Fusion Styles. Edgy and alternative performances are my specialty. I thrive on the so-called "edge of chaos."
I married my sweetheart, Anthony -better known as Ash, in 2001. We have three strapping young lads; Cullen, Fionn (we call him Finn), and Phelan (we call him Phel).
I became an Army Wife in November 2007 when Ash answered his country's call. He is stationed at Fort Bragg, NC. He's with the 20th Engineers and the 82nd Airborn.
When I'm not taking our boys out on advertures (our most recent being the 2008 Rainbow gathering in Pinedale, WY), tending my herb garden, or having date-night with my sweetie, I'm creating; sometimes chaos, more frequently art. I design and make almost all my belly dance gear. Anyone whose seen my full regalia knows that I like the details and small touches. Each piece is hand-worked with embroidery, beading, applique, etc. I'm a stickler for details which is essential to another hobby of mine; I'm an artist of sorts. In truth, I don't really draw - freehand is beyond me. I'm more of a doodler. I draw ambigrams. An ambigram is a creative way of writing a word or phrase so that when the paper it's on is turned 180 degrees it says the same word or phrase. This can also be done to say two different words or phrases as the paper is turned. These have made rather popular tatoo designs among my friends.
Truthfully, high school was not the greatest time of my life by any stretch of imagination. I do, however, remember having some very good friends. Since then, I keep living every day that I wake up still breathing. Life is great when one decides to make it that way!! I do my best to make my life and my family's lives beautiful every moment. Our own ideas of what makes life beautiful creates advertures and side-long glances along the way!
