Peggy Sue Hadley Moffat died Dec. 19, 2003, of complications arising from pneumonia. She was born Jan. 4, 1951, to Edward Perry and Lillian Sarah Baker Hadley in Idaho Falls, the seventh of eight children. She graduated from Idaho Falls High in 1969, where she was the Tigerettes Costume Mistress and Assistant Drill Mistress. She also served on the Junior Prom Committee and Student Council and participated in Choir. During her years in school she loved music and dance. She became an accomplished dancer, studying and teaching at the Betty Anderson School of Dance. She had opportunities to travel to New York to study dance. Music always moved her.
Peggy received a scholarship to study at Rick's College in Rexburg. While there she met and married Raymond Leon Moffat on July 10, 1970. They were later divorced.
Peggy was a member of the LDS Church. She served in the Relief Society and Young Women's presidency, as a librarian, in the Primary, in Scouts and others. She also served as president of the Faculty Women's Association at Rick's.
Her greatest joy was her sons and later their wives and children. Vacations to Disneyland, San Diego, Seattle, Canada, the Midwest and Southwest were standard. Peggy loved to travel and had a great interest in history and government. She traveled for years to Russia where she assisted humanitarian groups in getting badly needed medical and humanitarian supplies and equipment to orphanages and hospitals.
She was plagued with poor health but did not let that stop her from accomplishing many things. She graduated from Rick's and furthered her education at Idaho State University. At the time of her death she was employed at Idaho State University as the director of public relations for the Idaho Museum of Natural History.
She is survived by her mother, Lillian Hadley of Idaho Falls; sons, Brandon Edward (Julie) Moffat of Rigby, Raymond Shawn (Mary) Moffat of Dayton, Brian James (Kristen) Moffat of Sugar City; grandchildren, Mason, Megan, Michael, Rachel, Jacob and Aubrey; brothers and sisters, Douglas (Carlene) Hadley, Carol (John) Drouin and Kevin (Connie) Hadley, all of Idaho Falls, Roger (Judy) Hadley of Shelley and Steven (Gloria) Hadley of Layton, Utah.
