John Michael Murphy

John Michael Murphy, 50, passed away Friday, December 1, 2006.  Born in Indianapolis on November 20, 1956, the son of John W. Murphy and Marilyn Armacost Murphy, John spent his early life in Indianapolis.

A graduate of Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis, John was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.

Moving to Delaware County after high school, John worked for Warner Gear for 15 years, retiring in 2001 and was a proud member of Local #287.

In his leisure, John enjoyed astronomy, football, auto racing and was a corvette enthusiast.

Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Gillum, (husband-Timothy, Yorktown; mother, Marily Armacost Murphy, St. Petersburg, FL; sister, Jody Orosz, (husband-Bill), Orlando, FL; sister, Karon Millonzi, (husband-Phil), Myrtle Beach, SC; brother, Chris Murphy, (wife-Dana), also of South Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda McKinney Murphy who died in 1989 and his father, John, who also died in 1989.

Burial is in Beech Grove Cemetery.
