Jeffrey Stephen York, 48, of Indianapolis, departed this life on Sunday, January 30, 2005. He was born August 6, 1956 in Indianapolis to Marvin H. and Jane Uphaus York. Jeff graduated from Lawrence Central High School in 1975. He was an Account Sales Manager for Pepsi Americas of Indianapolis since 1992 after retiring from the Kroger Company in 1991. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church; a dedicated volunteer of The Special Olympics, and a former member of the Castleton Volunteer Fire Department. As a Lieutenant in 1979, he was awarded the American Legion Spartan Award for Valor. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Marvin H. York. Jeff is survived by his wife of 23 years, Barbara L. Engle York; daughters: Jessica and Colleen York; mother, Jane York; brothers: Michael, Greg, Randy (Mary Beth Oljace) and Mark (Cindy Kindle) York. Also 22 nieces and nephews and three great-nieces and nephews. Funeral service 9:30 a.m. Today at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Pius X Catholic Church. Interment Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
