I have a summer home in Ackworth Ia. I spend about 3 months every summer there. I retired Sept 2002. I owned my own Barber Business from 1992 until 2002 when i retired. Before that I worked as a skilled tradesman at Firestone Tire Plant in Des Moines . In the 80's I quit Firestone and took my family to the 3rd world country of Papua New Guinea as a support Missionary for Wycliff Bible Translators for 4 years. I passed my multi craft skills on to young PNG men while aiding the Bible translators. My family and I became very multi cultured and we all developed a totally different WORLD VIEW that I cherish. Unfortunately my 1st wife decided she was tired of travelling and wanted to be a Grandma only, after 46 years of marriage. I meet my new wife Stella who immigrated to USA at age 14 from a South American Country. She was thrown into High School not knowing any English only Spanish and Italian. AND WE THOUGHT WE HAD IT TUFF!!!! She ended her working career as a University Language Professor. Very multi cultured. We will see you at the mini reunion this year of Sept 2025. Dave and Stella
