To commemorate our 30^th Reunion, the St. Mary’s Academy Class of 1982 will proudly fund three SMA scholarships through our

“Alumnae Giving Campaign”

 

The Alumnae Giving Campaign will run from September 1, 2012 through December 31, 2012. 

Our goal is to provide three SMA students who 1) demonstrate a financial need, and 2) meet established guidelines, with full scholarships in the amount of $8,000.00.  Our generous gift will afford the deserving recipients the opportunity to receive a college preparatory education, spiritual development, and personal growth through the SMA experience.   

 

The Scholarship details and requirements are as follows:

Scholarship 1

Student must demonstrate a financial need, be enrolled in the Health Careers program, participate in community service efforts, and have a 3.0 GPA or greater. (The Health Careers program provides student the opportunity to explore through classroom studies and clinical experience, the world of healthcare and medical occupations).

Scholarship 2

Student must demonstrate a financial need, be a student athlete, participate in community service efforts, and have a 2.8 GPA or greater.  (Student athletes are defined as students participating in basketball, cheerleading, track and field, soccer, softball, or volleyball).

Scholarship 3

Student must demonstrate a financial need, must be active in student council or a school club, participate in community service efforts, and have a 3.0 GPA or greater.

 

Selection Process:

SMA administrators will select five finalist for each scholarship.  Each finalist will be required to write an essay about their SMA experience, their goals for the future, and how they intend to make a difference in the world.  The essays will be reviewed by the "Gold Tie Class of 1982" reunion committee, and said reunion committee will select the Scholarship recipients.

You can make a personal donation, ask family, friends, or local businesses to donate to the “Alumnae Giving Campaign”. 

You can also donate while you shop!
