My husband and I live in Southeast Texas just outside of Houston. He was raised here and I got here as fast as I could! Now that we are empty nesters we spend a lot of time enjoying the hill country and RVing. My husband is in the oil & gas industry and I am a Financial Advisor. Our children and grandchildren all live near us so we spend a lot of time with family and friends.

I have so many memories having spent 2nd grade through graduation at the same school. I remember cheering with the JV squad and couldn't wait to cheer on Friday nights. I loved our pep rallies with our spirit sticks. Oh and who can forget chemistry and physics with Coach Newport! Thanks to Mike Shaver (Beaker) and Tony Childers for getting us through it! Football games, dances, car washes and cheerleading practice....how did we still have time to get in trouble?? Thanks, Eric for calling me out on Grad Nite!! :) Just for the record, we weren't the only ones!

I think common sense left me because I'm training to ride my bicycle from Houston to Austin in the MS 150 on April 17th. Yes, I'm one of those crazy cyclists! This will be my 3rd time to make that 176 mile trip on a bicycle and as long as God thinks that's what I should do, I'll keep going.

That comment was from a long time ago. I have since made that bike ride 8 times.

I guess because of where and when we grew up, anything by Lynyrd Skynyrd is still my favorite.
