Carol, great memory!

Susan, great picture from our DC trip--really interesting to see how dressed up kids were to do a day of touring!  Suits & ties, gloves & heels--looks like "Mad Men," doesn't it?

My son asked me when he first saw my yearbook, how come all the girls wore skirts?!

My teenage granddaughters asked how the school could legally tell the girls that we couldn't wear slacks!

Ladies,

Try again to post pictures.  There must have been a number of complaints as I received a notice from the website developers that changes have been made for the uploading of photos.    Good luck!

It was a wonderful weekend, the planning committee did a great job with both the meet and greet and the dinner. The meet and greet was a great ice breaker for many of us who haven't been to a reunion since the 10th year reunion. Love the pictures! Thanks for everything, the CD is great, such memories!  Sarah Voorhies Uva

Historic...or hysteric.. Moments from days gone by

I remember being in Mr. Handler's history class one day, and we were studying the Middle East and Muslims in particular.  In the middle of the class, Dave Johnson (aka "Reb"). raised his hand and asked, "Mr. Handler, do Muslims have sects?".  Mr Handler, with more than a twinkle in his eye, replied " I beg your pardon!  They have little Muslims too!".  The place went up for grabs......

Hint: if you don't get it, read Reb's question aloud

As I understand , Mr.

Handler is alive and well living in N.J.

I remember that, and it was a rare moment of pandimonium.

Mr Handler one of the best teachers I had in high school made history very interesting I was exempt twice from taking final exams in his class...

Elizabeth (Betsy) Kasin (Hubbard)

I never liked history when I was in HS, but Mr. Handler made it better for me.

Unlike Betsy, I liked history, but Mr. Handler noticed that I blushed  easily and would typically start class by saying " let's make Miss Koppisch Blush" and it never failed to make me blush. He did make history interesting and I think I was in his class when we learned  that  Kennedy was assasinated and he cried. Miss Keife on the other hand was convinced that there was going to be a communist attack on our gym records and was carefully securing them when I went to hockey practice.

Mr, Handlers reaction to that particular American tragedy and his teasing about my blushing are two memories that I have taken with me. I do love Paul's story about Dave. Like Paul I am a sucker for verbal humor.

Sounds of Education....

Now first you have to understand, I really liked Miss Weber, and I think she liked me.  Nevertheless, she often looked at me with raised finger pointing saying... "Mr. Newman, YOU BETTER GET AWAKE!!"  I did learn a  lot from her class that came to serve me well later on in both my education and in my career.

Well, it seems that one day, we were sitting in her class, and I think poor Miss Weber had something for lunch that she probably shouldn't have.  We all were sitting there trying to pay attention to what she was saying but every few minutes there were some astonishing sounds from her.  Finally, Steve Porpora, who was sitting next to me, leaned over and said...soto voce he thought...  "Sheese, her stomach sounds like walnuts going through a meat grinder!"

I about lost it... and unfortunately Miss Weber's swift retribution fell on me... "Mr. Newman!  Was there something funny in what I said??  YOU BETTER GET AWAKE!" ... "No Ma'am... Yes Ma'am"

I think Steve and I both barely lasted through the class and made it out the door....
