Ashley Miller

My life has changed many times since high school ended. I went to college for a while. I decided not to go back, because I am happier doing what I do now. I live with my boyfriend in Powell. We live in a 1963 Airstream camper and I love it. I have always wanted one of those and now I have one :). I like the freedom of it. We are still working on it, though and we plan on getting land in the near future. I want to homestead. I like the idea of building my own home, growing my own food, and being in nature. We planned on traveling at one point, and that still may happen, but I am mostly happy with my situation. We are working hard to get the things we want. It gets discouraging sometimes, but I am mostly optimistic about everything, all of the time. I still tend to be pretty weird. I still wear crazy clothes, although I have calmed down my style a bit. I am basically the same, maybe a little less mad at the world, but most who knew me knew I wasn't really mad all of the time, I just looked that way. I love doing my art. I do decently well selling it. Lately, my favorite thing to do is woodworking. That works out well, also, because my boyfriend and I like to work for people cleaning up their yards and we come across a lot of different types of wood. I just finished some Sycamore boxes that I am going to give my brothers. We got that Sycamore wood from this guy that had his 90 ft tall tree cut down. It was a really pretty tree and it was a shame that he cut it down, but I am putting good use to it. I think Sycamore is my favorite wood to carve. It takes forever because it is really dense, but it is really rewarding when it surprises you with really pretty grain patterns.

I am glad to be out of school. I don't feel as restrained anymore. I liked some of the people, but many of the rules seemed silly to me.
