School Story:
It seems you remember so many embarassing things that happened to you, as much as it was fun I don't want to go back! I remember all my great teachers, they sure were patient with me. After raising 3 girls and also being a substitute teacher I really do feel bad for them. Poor Mr Whalen trying to teach me Algebra II. I loved Mr Exley's World Religion course. Who can forget Ms Harrells Advanced English class, and her purplish hair, ah when we didn't do as she liked and she made us diagram sentences. Mr Buckley and Chemistry, he made me promise I would not try Physics! I think that's especially funny since my husband is a physics teacher. I didn't miss any football or basketball games. Had crushes on all of the basketball players since they were taller than me...too shy to speak to them. Bonfires before Homecoming, so many great traditions. Of course for me I can't not mention Mr Robinson and chorus...I was in all things musical...Girl's Glee, Senior Chorus, Ensemble. Then he would get so mad with us and yell and start spitting. But we sure learned a lot of music. There's so much more, different friends as you had different classes. Then there was a whole new group of friends to make when you had to go to summer school. Somehow Mr Moore couldn't make angles and Theorems (that is Geometry?) make sense to me, so I made a B and 5 E's...so off to summer school with Charles Rutledge, Gary Braddock and Hilton Dempsey and Joe Bullard....We were a stellar group, somehow with all of us working together we all passed and Hilton fell in love with Betty. Those were rough summer mornings having to get up for 6 weeks and sit there for 4 or 5 hours!
Remember going to the Fair after one of the football game every October, riding the Wild Mouse and screaming your head off!
