I found 2 Gray's as juniors in a 1967 annual.  Brenda Gray  and Dianne Gray 9which means the would have graduated in 1968.)  My 1968 book only shows senior, Diane Peggy Gray.

Diane Gray graduated in 1968. Her father was a large animal veterinarian.
Her brother Chip graduated in 1969.

Thank you all so much for looking. I found her yearbook today from 68 which she was a junior in with lots of notes from classmates. Turns out she moved to Lee halfway through the year from Maryland so she must of missed pictures.

Elaine Cox, Class of 1967, has passed along the sad news that her brother, Wilson Cox, died last November. She asked that the members of his class be notified. Wilson lived north of Atlanta, in Duluth , GA.

I was truly rocked by the news that my childhood friend Wilson Foch Cox had passed away. We were friends from our days riding our first bikes all over Murray Hill, to our days at Lee trying our best to drive Mr. Kelly crazy, to our first real jobs working for the city Streets and Highways Dept. He lived with my family for some time, back in the day. We were very close and raised lots of hell together! Surprisingly perhaps neither one of us went to prison and in fact had successful careers. I hadn't seen or heard from Wilson since we went to FSU, and took different paths. We did text back and forth a few times recently. Shocked doesn't begin to describe how I felt when I saw the news. Many of our peers have passed away, but Wilson and I grew up together and his death hit me particularly hard. A sad reminder that we are all getting older, and should cherish every day we have our health and our lives. Many of our peers don't. Rest in peace my friend.

Just wanted to let everyone know that Ken Whitley passed away this morning. They are still not certain what it was, it happened so quickly. He contracted an infection and they could not control it. He waited too long to get help. It was NOT covid. We met in Mr. Nichols English class in the fall of 1966 and have been friends ever since. Sad. Prayers to Kenny and Kelly, his son and daughter.

Pat, sorry to hear of Ken's passing. From his profile it looks like he had a successful career in real estate and cabinetry with a fine family in South Florida. From your site's photos there's a great photo of the two of you drinking Lite Beer together. I did not know him well but it's clear the two of you remained very close. In addition to his surviving family my sympathy goes out to you as well for your loss.  Tom

I enjoy reading about my old classmates, where they are what they have done with their lives now that most of us are retired.  I am also full of morning for the 73 of our classmates have passed on with the latest being Ken Whitley.  Ken was always laughing and I don't know anyone who has anything bad to say about him.  I can say the same thing about a lot of our classmates.  So if your sick, I pray that you get well and I pray for the families of our classmates that are no longer with us.  Carry on, God Bless and Have Fun!

I am so sad to hear Kenny passed away. I got to know Ken real well in high schools and am proud to say he was a good friend. We were roommates at USF for 2 years and we had some great times. Ken was very laid back and never had a harsh word for anyone. Kenny use to make our run to Monte's for  go go juice and a bunch of us would head to the park at Ortega bridge and have a great time without a care in the world. Two of my best friends in high school have recently passed, Ken and Chi Carc Wagoner and it hurts. Jeanine I am so sorry for you and your families loss.

I am saddened greatly by the loss of Ken (and Charles Wagoner). Ken, as mentioned was a gentle giant and the story of Monte's Liquors in Avondale is a classic. Just the memory of Ken driving through the 'to go' lane of the liquor store and speaking to Sammie, with 4 of us sitting like church mice in the car, and ordering spirits for all, still cracks me up. Fleeing to the park or Ortega Bridge to party was so wild for us.
We played poker (and gut) with a number of classmates that will relate.
Spent nights at Kens house on occasion. He was a Detroit Tigers baseball fan. I remember, driving my brothers Gig's Yazoo Dragster Go Cart to his house. He jumped aboard and pulled a wheelie. I dragged the 'Dragster' home later. His days on the football team at Lee was funny. Lee Coach Barrett called Ken, "Biggun", and would have him working on drills and getting home late. Mom, would serve him up a sandwich and milk.
In and after College days at Univ South Florida, we continue to share friendship and joy.

I pray for Jeannine and family for healing. I will miss our conversations and memories. RIP Ken.

I am thrilled to tell everybody that my wife Marilyn and I celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary this past Sunday, June 12, 2022.  We met during my freshman year at the University of Florida and were married shortly after Marilyn's graduation in 1972.  I graduated one year later with a Bachelor's degree in Broadcasting from  UF's College of Journalism and Communications.  I had a varied career, mostly in church ministry.  My days as Lee's Student Council Chaplain in 1968-69 were my first steps in that adventure.  Marilyn was a microbiology major and worked in that field.  We are now both retired and enjoying life in Palmetto, Florida where our youngest daughter and three grandchildren reside.  My memories of Lee High School have always been an important part of our life together.

Hubert,

You have been a lifelong friend since an early age, neighbors on Ernest St., scouting, church, Southern Maid paper summer job loading trucks & boxcars, Gorrie & Lee. May fine memories and I remember visiting you at UF your freshman year and you were gone most of the weekend visiting Marilyn.  Tom Brown, your roommate was out and about too, but I go t to enjoy Gator football seeing UF upset Houston and the beginning of John Reaves to Carlos Alvarez. Marilyn has been a great wife, mom and helpmeet in many ways. You both set a great example of love and marriage for many.  Blessings to you and Marilyn as you celebrate and many more.

Mackie

Hubert and Jim,

Hubert, congratulations on your 50th anniversary. It's quite an accomplishment. I also was into the UF Journalism and Communications until I went to my first class and discovered that I really needed to know how to type, which I couldn't do. So I ended up a History Major with a Secondary Education backup. Jim, I vividly remember the Houston/Florida game with Reaves and Alvarez. Houston was pre-season ranked #1 in the nation by Playboy magazine. I was seated in the end zone when Alvarez made one of his diving finger tipped catches in the same end zone from Reaves. It was exillerating. My best to you both!

My wife, Linda Smiezek, from La Crosse Wisconsin and I got married on January 26, 1974, don't know how many years that is but it's a lot. We had two girls that are now grown up and we moved around to several towns in Fla, Indiana and now we have settled in and Collierville TN, for the past 20 years, which is just outside of Memphis. This year my only grandchild, Ben became a senior. I thought I was short changed in the grandchild department. But today, it’s pretty safe to say my other daughter is going to have a baby girl. Things are done differently today but I couldn’t be happier for Jamie and Ben (not grandson) and both of our families.

I was so very sorry to read that  both Ken Whitley and Charles Wagoner have died.   Charles And I carpooled to Mrs. Archibald's kindergarten!  He was one of my early playmates along with Coakley.  Charles was always someone I spoke to if we were at the same reunion.  Kenny was such a lovely person and we were in school together forever too.  I talked to him one time at one of the reunions about art and he also enjoyed drawing.  If I remember right he had also done some drafting too.  I can't believe they are both gone!  Prayers to their families.  So sorry you were really sick too Felix and hope you have fully recovered!

Congrats to all of you celebrating many years of being married!  Wow that is fantastic!  Maris and I will be celebrating 30 years as a couple at Christmas!  Hard to believe!

I had my right knee replaced in June and was out of the studio for several weeks.  I am honored to be painting a piece for Kristen Johnson Britt.  Still thinking about teaching online just need to get it done.  I teach several in person art classes at two different art facilities and really enjoy it.  Was in two art fairs in the Spring but came down with Covid the first day of one.  Hope to have another in Oct.

Would you all like to have another Zoom call?  I can set that up if you would!  Have a great rest of your summer!  Stay safe and well.

Hello from Texas, Y'all!

Another ZOOM call sounds great to me.

Let me know when and I'm there.

That is if we don't burn up in this DFW heat wave, whew!
