In Memory

Chuck Patterson - Class Of 1975

Henry Weldon - Yesterday around noon i lost one of my oldest friends, Chuck Patterson. We were friends for over 50 years, stayed close for the entire time. I can never remember having an argument or having a cross word between us. I WILL TRULY MISS HIM. My heart goes out to his family and friends. If you go through life and have a few true friends, you are lucky and now one is gone.Peace brother

Scott Skinner - As I've said before sometimes growing old sucks. R.I.P. to my long time friend Chuck Patterson

Dear Classmates:

I am deeply saddened to hear of Chuck's passing. To be honest, we weren't super tight friends, and I don't recall us ever getting together away from school, other than parties and other gatherings; but we were always glad to see one another, and usually spent a significant amount of time talking music each and every time.

I truly enjoyed our talk at our last reunion, but sadly it's looking like neither of us will be there next month. I truly want to be there, however it falls just a few days following my daughter and grandson's visit to Arizona; and the mini-trips we plan to take, along with all the associated expenses, and time off from work, may make it nearly impossible for me to attend. It's not out of the question for an 11th hour change, but as of this writing it is highly unlikely.

I am heart-broken to know that, even if I could make it, Chuck wouldn't be there to make the evening that much more special.

I hear word that reservations are very low, and if not improved upon, and soon, it could jeopardize the entire event. I will gladly sign up and donate the reservation fee to help keep the event alive; whether I end up making it or not.

I implore you to do the same, if possible. And for those of you on Facebook and other social media, to post a friendly reminder to all your friends, with the hopes of enticing those who may be planning to sign up at the last possible minute to go ahead and register ASAP!. This important and fun filled event should be able to carry on for all who have been looking forward it and planning on it (perhaps from distant miles) for a long time.

My dear friend Chuck, I will sign up and buy a ticket for us both, so even if we're not there, we will be enjoying our own spiritual and musical reunion of sorts.

May your memory be eternal, My dear friend!

Tony Y.

^^^^^^^ THIS! You are an honorable man Tony. I was glad I had the chance to talk to Chuck @ the last reunion. He was one heck of a nice guy and will be missed.

Nicely said Tony. Chuck and I go back to the second grade.  Last saw Chuck this past fall at a fraternity brother's cookout.  As always I enjoyed talking with Chuck.  Chuck will be missed.

I grew up on the same street with Chuck -- we were on opposite sides of Rogero Road.  But we shared the same birthdate, and we were born, as I recall, in the same hospital.  He was sort of my "twin".  He was a great kid growing up, and I'm glad I got to see him at the 35th reunion.  Sad to hear he has already gone from us.
