She was a student in our 1975 class at Arlington Heights Elementary. I remember being in 3rd grade praying for her as she was at Hope Haven Children's Hospital with spinal meningitis (parents described as very, very serious bad headache). When we went to school the next day, we learned she'd passed away in the night from a 'brain hemorrhage.' I remember she had dark hair, often worn in a pony tail, and very fair skin. She was just one of our classmates. She lived on Pine Summit (west of Rogero) near Patsy Latimer, and I think was an only child. I imagine many of our Arlington Heights classmates may remember that or could add more information. I think she should be remembered along with any others who may have preceded us in death before life at TP.

Debra McKinney lived on Pine Summit near me. I remember a little about her, she was a classmate also at Arlington Heights Elementary. I remember when she was in the hospital I was at Terri Guy's house and we were all praying for her. We didn't really understand what was happening, and not a lot of information was given to us. I remember how we came into school on that morning, and the teachers were crying, and they told us Debra had passed. Lots of confusion and tears passed that day, our little world was now different. I often rode my bike by her house as the years passed, and her mother had a portrait of Debra that hung where you could see it through the living room window. Then I would think about how she had missed out on so many things we all did. I guess God needed her more in Heaven.

Wow, I do remember her. I lived two houses from her on Pine Summit. She was a good friend of my sister Kathy. You are correct, there was not a lot of informaion given at the time. Perhaps it was because we were so young. We have lost too many folfs over the years and recently. KC Hodges and Andy Rooks are just a few that come to mind today. May they all have their rest in heaven.

I still remember Debra (Debbie) McKinney to this day as a very sweet girl and classmate leaving us much too early at such a young age. Debra was the first classmate I can remember passing away. I was unaware of Debra having any physical ailment at the time. I remember her as being a fun, bubbly young girl. And I still remember the day Mrs. Vickers (3rd grade teacher) told the class that Debra went to be with the Lord and won't be with us in class anymore (something to that effect). Sadly over the years as I have read of fellow classmates passings, I always think of Debra and wish she could have been part of our TP75 graduating class.
