Janice Grumbles Obituary

GRUMBLES Janice (Jan) L. Patterson Wade Grumbles, 60, lost her 10+-year battle with Breast Cancer and passed away peacefully with her family by her side on October 7, 2017. Jan was born in Jacksonville, Florida to parents Gary and Kathy Patterson. She was predeceased by her father Gary Patterson Sr. Her husband was Peter Grumbles, sons Joshua and Andrew Wade; daughter in-law Kelly Wade; granddaughter Mila Kate; brothers Gary Patterson and wife Marlene, James Patterson and wife Mary, and Michael Patterson; and numerous nieces and nephews survive her. Jan was a longtime Jacksonville and Fernandina Beach area resident and a graduate of Terry Parker High School, Class of 1975. With a perpetual smile on her face and always a kind word for others, her passions were her Family, Friends, and Travel. As an 18+ year Travel representative of American Express Corporation, she embraced her passion for Travel by helping others in meeting their travel needs. Prior to her Travel career, she was an Insurance liability claims adjuster for AETNA Corporation. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. A viewing will be held on Oct. 10, 2017 from 6-8 pm at George H. Hewell & Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd., S., Jacksonville, FL. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home location on Oct. 11 2017 @ 11:00 AM followed by a graveside service at Jacksonville National Veterans Cemetery.
