John Michael Bazzell, 71, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019 in Macclenny, Florida. He was the son of the late James William Bazzell, Sr. & Mary T. Bazzell.
From his birth in Jacksonville, FL, on July 21, 1947 to his passing, John Michael nourished everyone around him with love, faith, and music. The youngest of three siblings, John began piano lessons at age 7, and quickly discovered his love and gifts in music, starting with rock and roll bands in his teens. At 17, he was introduced to the love of his life, Linda, and they married a couple of years later on June 16, 1967. John and Linda eventually settled back in Jacksonville and John took a job at the Hilltop restaurant, where he was pianist for 32 years, and also began using his God-given gifts in ministry writing, mentoring, equipping and leading others in worship. Most recently he served as the Praise Leader at Fellowship Bible Church in Middleburg, FL. He spent many years visiting nursing homes and ministering there as well. His love for Jesus permeated his every encounter.
John Michael is preceded in death by his parents and a brother: James William Bazzell, Jr. He is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 51 years: Linda Bazzell; beloved sister: Bonnie Mills; 4 nephews: Jeff, Ken & Todd Mills and Paul Bazzell; niece: Jeneene and numerous other extended family and friends.
