Cheryl Braddock Obituary

Cheryl Wood Braddock, 75, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 4, 2023.  She was born in Jacksonville on October 13, 1947 and daughter to the late James Harvey Wood and Evelyn Doris Turner Wood. Cheryl was a lifelong member of the Church of God and has been a Christian for many years. She was known for her study of the Bible, teaching Sunday school and living her life for Jesus. She graduated from FSU in 1969 with a Bachelor's Degree in English.  She met the love of her life, Larry Braddock, and they married on December 19, 1970.  Cheryl began her teaching career at Paxon Sr. High School, then became Principal of Southside Estates Academy.  She became a licensed realtor and worked with Kicklighter Custom Homes, serving for more than 20 years.  Preceded in death by her parents, surviving family include her husband of 52 years, Larry Braddock; son, Dr. Todd Braddock and wife, Meghan; 3 grandchildren: Matthew, Beau and Lilly Braddock and a host of friends and church family.  A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Restoration Church, 1677 Southside Blvd., with Pastor John Morgan, officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.  Her family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11"00 AM at the church.

According to Joe Stonecipher, Cheryl had Alzheimer's a few years before she died.

Dr. Barron K. Brown

Cheryl was my classmate and neighbor all through school. She was so gentle and kind. Like so many I haven't seen since graduation I remember her even now. Some people just stand out as special. Love, peace, and good memories to her family and friends.
