
Margaret Lee “Peggy” Ward, 74, of Lake City, passed away on Saturday evening, October 22, 2022 at the Haven Hospice – E.T. York Care Center in Gainesville after a brief illness. She was born in Jacksonville on December 9, 1947 to the late Jack Coleman Lee, Sr. & Margaret Stoddard Lee. She was a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School in 1965 and has made Lake City her home since the mid-1970’s. She and her husband owned and operated United Distributors in Lake City for over 25 years and she worked for Farmer’s Home Furniture in Lake City, retiring in 2020. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching old movies & love stories, loved her animals & plants, collecting bells and shot glasses as well as being outside and boating. She is preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband of over 38 years, Roby Ward; and her siblings, Thomas, Harold & Jerry Lee.
She is survived by her children, Todd Ward (Annette), Rochelle Ward (Terry Butner) and Kristi Neal (Jon); and her brothers, Robert Lee (Karen) and Jack Lee, Jr. (Sharon). Four grandchildren, Terri Ward, Lucas Ward, Coleman Neal & Riley Neal along with one great-grandchild, Daniell Reyer also survive.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be conducted on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 12 Noon in the Evergreen Cemetery, 4535 Main St Jacksonville, FL, 32206. Interment will follow.
