CONNELL David C. Connell, 59, passed away August 17, 2006 after a courageous battle with colon cancer. David was a member of First Baptist Church, where he sang bass in the Chancel Choir since 1995. Previously he was a member of Westside Baptist Church where he also sang in the choir for over 12 years. David joined the Florida Army National Guard from 1966-1986. He was employed by CSX Transportation since 2/2/70 and presently was Manager, Mechanical Operations, and Locomotive Control. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, JoAnn Burris Connell and their 3 children, Jason Corey Connell, Ashley Rodriguez (Oscar) and Lesley Connell and one grandson, Gage Corey Connell. David had 3 sisters, Carlie Ann Loos (James), Betty Lou Hunt (Jessie), Claudine Royse (Ernie) and 1 younger brother, Danny (Becky), along with numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 19, 2006 at 11:00 am in the Teachey Chapel, Westside Baptist Church, 7775 Herlong Road, with Dr. Harold G. Hudson officiating followed by interment in Riverside Memorial Park at 1:30pm. The family will receive friends at FRASER FUNERAL HOME, 8168 Normandy Blvd. (781-4314) from 5:00 - 8:00pm Friday.
