June M. Merritt (Harrison)

HARRISON Mrs. June Merritt Harrison, 63, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at her Callahan home. She was born in Dinsmore (Jacksonville) in 1947 and was a lifelong resident of Florida. She graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1965 and was a member of Wingate Road Baptist Church. She moved to Callahan in 1999, after the death of her husband of 20 years. She loved being outdoors, gardening, fishing and camping at the Jetties. She was also an adventurous cook, a history buff, and had a passion for crossword puzzles. She was an avid Frog collector with a collection spanning close to 40 years. She is preceded in death by both her parents; her husband, Ed Harrison; and sister and brother-in-law, Ethel and Clyde Randalls. She is survived by her children, Veronica 'Roni' and Harry Angell, Debbie and Rick Gills, Johnny M. Franklin, and Kevin and Vicki Moore; 3 brothers, Donald and Debby Merritt, Doyle and Vivian Merritt, Harold and Diane Merritt; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank all of the people who helped to care for June over the last several years. There have been many who were a part of her life that helped her, and her family, in more ways than they realize. These are special people who gave of themselves to make sure she was happy. A Memorial Service will be offered on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 1:00 p.m., at her daughters home located at 54407 Cravey Road, Callahan, Florida with Brother Bill Ryals officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Earl Nettles, Rick Ursry, Joe Carmon, Michael Muench, Ben Newton, III, and Chris Newton.
