HERNDON - Ronald Brooks Herndon, Jr., 50, passed away, Saturday, October 10, 1998  He died while attending the 1998 FSU-Florida Football game of a massive heart attack.

HERNDON - Ronald Brooks Herndon, Jr., 50, passed away, Saturday, October 10, 1998 in Gainesville, FL. He was a retired police officer with the Jacksonville Sheriffs Office, a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Masonic Lodge and a Shriner. Born November 1, 1947, he was a livelong resident of Jacksonville. Mr. Herndon is survived by: 2 sons, Robert Brooks Herndon and Michael William Herndon; his parents, Ronald Brooks Herndon, Sr. and Loretta Herndon; 2 sister, Sandra Koontz (Gary) and Waylene Branch (Wayne); and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Friday at 4 p.m. at 12303 Yellow Bluff Road, with Chaplain Crosby officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made in his memory to the American Heart Association, 5851 St. Augustine Road, Jacksonville, FL 32207. Arrangements by George H.
