Wayne M. Singletary VIEW PROFILE

Deceased 6/8/2019

Wayne M. Singletary was born at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Jacksonville, Florida to Marvin D. Singletary and lma Louise Morgan Singletary. He was a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School. Wayne continued his education at the University of Florida where he also earned his Juris Doctor. He was member of the Phi Gamma Delta (Upsilon Phi Chapter) Fraternity.

Wayne began his career at Bray and Singletary law firm in downtown Jacksonville. In 2000 an opportunity to become Professor of Business Law called him to teach at FSCJ Kent Campus, a passion he had always wanted to pursue. He was devoted to his clients, students and family.

He adored his son Morgan and spent as much time as possible throwing baseballs, attending soccer games, basketball games and coaching flag football. Wayne surprised us all when he became involved with the Boy Scouts — assisting with troop meetings and camping out. Morgan now follows in dad’s footsteps lovingly guiding his own son.

Wayne spent countless hours at the Jacksonville Gun Club where he served as a volunteer and later as President. He was always eager to serve on the Board, help with club shoots and dinners and hopefully shoot a “straight.” He was a Life Member.

The most recent joy in his life was grandson Easton Singletary (21/2) who helped his Papa get around and tell him where to sit. Quite a pair.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Jo Maloney, son Morgan Singletary and grandson Easton Singletary; nephews David Chambers and Paul Chambers, sons of his sister Marcy Singletary Chambers (deceased).

The family will celebrate Wayne’s life at a private memorial.

If you wish to remember Wayne, the family suggested a memorial be made to Community Hospice. They are truly Angels of Mercy.

Rest in Peace Wayne.

Arrangements are with Evergreen Funeral Home & Crematory (904) 353-3649.
