 James "Jim" Thibodeaux Obituary

THIBODEAUX
James "Jim" Gordon Thibodeaux, 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Veterans Day, Sunday November 11, 2018, after a 2-year battle with cancer.
A Jacksonville native, Jim was born at St. Vincent's Hospital to the late W.P. and Ruth (Hines). He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marines and the U.S. Navy, stationed at Pearl Harbor, and was a proud alumnus of Florida State University. After graduation, Jim worked at Suddath Van Lines and later retired from CSX in risk management.
He was an avid race fan, spending years racing sail boats, Porches, BMWs and his beloved Corvette. He was a proud father of two daughters, four grandchildren, three fur-grandbabies, and his very best friend, Cujo, his Chihuahua. Jim was a very talented artist, guitar player, and loved cooking for his family and friends, especially his famous gumbo. He will be missed dearly by those who loved him.
Jim is survived by daughters, Lauren (Thomas) Lee, Morgan Robinson, grandchildren Kate, Ryker, Ben and Charlotte, brother Ronald (Jackie), dear friends Pam and Kevin Noe, and many nieces, nephews, other
family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at Englewood Christian Church, 4316 Barnes Rd S, Jacksonville, on Tuesday at 10:30am, with a visitation for family and friends at 9:30am. In lieu of flowers, it is asked that donations be made to the American Cancer Society. The family would also like to thank Community Palliative and Hospice Care for their support over the last year.
