 Funeral services for Madeline Sue Hamilton, 66, who passed away on January 11, 2014, will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM in the North Jacksonville Baptist Church, with Dr. Herb Reavis Jr., officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 PM at George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4747 Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. Serving as active pall bearers will be Wally Tanner, Dan Dixon, Stan Crosby, Victor Burt, Bob Babbett, and Jamie Vandenheuvel. Miss Hamilton was born in Jacksonville, Florida and was a lifelong resident. She worked her entire career in the property and casualty insurance business here in Jacksonville. She was a licensed agent and she achieved the coveted CIC Professional designation. She co-founded River City Insurance, Inc. She continued her career with J. P. Perry, an agency she came to love, as they loved her. She had been a past president of Zonta International, a Womens Organization, comprised of woman business owners. She was the recipient of numerous insurance awards over the years. She was a member of the North Jacksonville Baptist Church for over 30 years and was active in the choir. She is the daughter of the late Hugh and Edna Hamilton; Survivors include her sister, Paulette Hamilton; Cousins, Beth Wielage, Paul Wielage, Kenneth Ponder (Norma) Andy and Stephanie Ponder. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to: North Jacksonville Baptist Church Building Fund, 8531 North Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
