Richard Wayne Rogers

Richard Wayne Rogers, 68 of Orange City went to be with the Lord on November 14, 2016 at Florida Hospital DeLand. He was born in Jacksonville on December 23, 1947 and served in the US Navy. Richard established The Old Smokehouse Barbeque restaurant in Orange City. He was a member of The Journey (First Baptist) Church in Orange City. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing and politics, and he was beaming over the Trump victory. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Gail; sons Hal (Renee) Rogers of DeLand, Jeff (Brynn) Rogers of DeLand and Price (Katie Toth) of DeLeon Springs; brother Ronnie (Ann) Rogers of Jacksonville; sister Mary Jo Phillips of Tallahassee and grandchildren Taylor, Madison, Jarrett, Blake, Rylyn and Brayden. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, November 17th at 5pm at Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel in DeLand, with the family receiving friends from 3-5pm prior to the service. Pastor Rich Van Wagner will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Outdoors, Inc. 1041 Crown Park Circle, Winter Garden, FL 34787.
