A L U M N I in P O V E R T Y Posted Monday, February 1, 2010 12:33 PM JAMAICA HIGH students had the reputation for being very COMPASSIONATE. Let's hope and pray that it hasn't vanished over the passing years. There are some fellow alumni caught up in this Recession. Others hit by joblessness. Perhaps even Foreclosures. We cannot afford to ignore their plight.
Those who plan our 2010 REUNION have an important responsibility to heed the reality of what is. COST and LOCATION play a central role. Do we wish for our Reunion to become an Upscale-Only Affair? Do we seek the equivalent of Social Class Segregation? Let us hope we can avoid that PITFALL.
Some of us still do care.

RE: A L U M N I in P O V E R T Y Posted Monday, February 22, 2010 12:51 PM Away in the Southwest, exploring NM, reuniting with former landlord, still quite charming. Plan returning to OR in midweek, catch up on snail mail, email, laundry. Michael, I know where Salem Hts Ave is as I used to attend a Toastmasters meeting held on Mardona Ave a few blocks away. And sometimes we go shop Fred Meyer's in that area. My weekend cell number is 503-851-7825. Please call and let's chat this Saturday. Your awesome alum-bum, Barry-Lee
