Come west and linger awhile.  Especially if you live is sweaty cities and want to escape to something both green and non-humid: SALEM, OR.

The Annual World Beat Festival runs the last weekend in June, featuring songs and dances and pageantry from a cross-section of the globe.  It's held in Salem's Riverfront Park, an hour south of Portland, which boasts of Mt. Hood flanking in eastern horizon.  We also have lots of refreshing waterfalls and hiking trails at nearby Silver Falls State Park.

Expect World Beat admission to be in the $4-5 range. Best of all, we in Oregon have absolutely NO SALES TAX.  What an incentive.
