At latest count, 303 people will be at our Sept. 25th Gala Reunion Party in Melville.  What a great opportunity to connect!

But 50 years later can surely make for faded memories in a fairly enormous crowd.  How shall we identify faces of the past?

Some of us are hoping that this website can possibly download photos from the four class yearbooks covered -- 1959 through 1963.  That would be neat.  We could then easily download our old photo to attach to our nametags.  Then we could connect much more efficiently.  Once the buffet dinner is served and we are all seated it will be more difficult to figure out WHO IS WHO. 

This Message Forum asks us to "sound off" not to create problems but rather to help head them off at the pass.  No ambushes wanted.  So, pardners, wot do ya think?

We have already sent out a letter to all classmates requesting that they bring a scan of their yearbook pictures to attach to their badge.  We are attempting tol purchase badge holders that will accomodate the pictures.

Do you realize how difficult it would be to download all yearbook pictures onto the website, not to talk about the amount of the file size it would take up.  Great idea, but not feasable.

I don't mean to be negative in my response, but the reunion committee is aware of your concerns and have addressed it to the classes by requesting them to scan their own photo's or request it of their friend that can do it for them.  I have personally done it for a few people from the classes of 59 and 60 as I have those yearbooks available to me.

Terrific move.  Shows we still have that old JHS SCHOOL SPIRIT. Not yet dissolved into nothingness.  There's no sane reason that Larry and Stan should have to go it alone in problemsolving!

AND YES: it's reality to believe that perhaps half of our 300-plus JHS reunion attendees no longer have their yearbooks after fifty years!

It's still a bit amusing to see 300 of us line up and face down those at the reunion to identify those we know.  Half an hour timeline??

Would make a cool video for America's Funniest, hmmmmm??
