Madeline and Daniel Patricia and Michael Bonnie and Robby Cathy and Chad LAUREN--Susan, 65, of New York, NY, died Monday, October 20, 2008 at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital. A native New Yorker and the daughter of the late Alexander and Mary Levine, Susan graduated from Monmouth College in New Jersey, furthering her studies at FIT in New York City. Her passion for the art and history of fashion was acknowledged in her role as a Docent for the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. On October 17, 2008, the Museum of American Folk Art honored Susan and her husband Jerry Lauren as passionate collectors and connoisseurs in the world of American Folk Art. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Susan is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, Jerry Lauren, Executive Vice President of Men's Design, Polo Ralph Lauren, and their three children, Brad, Greg and Jenny Lauren. She is also survived by Brad's wife, Amy, their son Ben and Greg's wife Elizabeth Berkley Lauren. Memorials in her name may be contributed to the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care and Prevention and to Stand Up to Cancer. A private memorial and inurnment will be held.
