Linda Eder (Hanken) was my mother. She passed away on February 11, 1983 after a long illness. I wanted to share a few words about her life and how wonderful she was to those who wanted to know about what ever happened to her.

Mom was an incredible woman; her kidneys failed after having my brother, and she was on dialysis for years. Even though she had several connected health issues, she owned a successful boutique, sold Avon, did interior design and was a wonderful mom to me and my brother. She was known  and very loved in our community - and certainly not forgotten. She was 41 when she passed. She is also survived by my brother, Larry Hanken; She has 7 grandchildren whom would be far more spoiled had they known her. ~ Thank you for including this, Mr. Shapiro, she is too important to be forgotten. Linda Eder was one of my best friends during our Jamaica High years and after we all married and had kids until Linda's untimely death.  Unfortunately lost contact with her ex husband when they moved away and seemed to cut all ties with friends etc. and never knew where the kids were until last year when I cam across her daughter's letter on In Memory page.  I have since searched Lori Hanken and connected to a marvelous young women living in Fla....we correspond, reminisce and she remembers my children and I am being kept up to date on hers.  I feel wonderful that I was able to fill in the missing parts of her mother's life.  Linda has and always be a special part of my life as we shared so much over the years......glad I can help keep her memory alive.  She was an extraordinary friend, confidant and mother to Larry and Lori.

I didn't know Linda at all, however, the fact that you were able to reconnect with her daughter is a wonderful thing. Thank goodness for modern technology!!
