Haven't heard from Alan in Month and my mail wasn't bouncing so I Googled him and unfortunately found the following...
TIFFORD, Alan S., age 72 of Westin, FL, died Saturday, April 26, 2014. Mr. Tifford was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Florida from Dix Hills, NY in 1987. He was an attorney. Survivors include his wife, Ellen, son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Craig & Gail Tifford of Stamford, CT, daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer (Esq.)& Barry (Esq.) Schaevitz of Bedford, NY, grandchildren, Jason & Kate of Stamford, CT and Samantha & Sydney of Bedford, NY, brother, Arthur Tifford (Esq.) of Newport, RI sisters and brothers-in-law, Ronnie & Stanley Gralnick of Boca Raton and Shari & Jonathan Fuss of Treasure Island, step-daughter and children, Jodi Bakalar (Steven), Jamie & Taylor of Weston and step-son and children, Michael Hymowitz (Esq.)(Stacey), Hayley & Brooke of Weston. A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 1st, 4:00 PM at the Savino-Weissman Funeral Home, 2950 N. State Road 7, Margate, FL. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Craig D. Tifford Foundation, www.cdtfoundation.org.

Alan and I were in the same homeroom for four years. We lost touch for many years and an inquiry into Facebook rekinded the relationship. When my wife passed away in April 2011 Alan communicated with me for more than 6 weeks and got me over the initial hump. When I did not receive his usual steady email stream I thought he might have been away. I later googled Alan and found out that he had passed away. He was a true friend to me and I shall miss him.

I remember Allan as a fun loving guy from Jamaica High School,I last saw him at our 50th High School reunion I will miss his sense of humor and his constant Emails. It seems G-D always takes the best early well he sure got a great guy this time. I'm sure all of us that knew Allan will miss him,so long pal.
