Well after High School my interest in Pool grew. I decided I wanted to travel and play. Started dating a guy who works on pool cues. We travel everywhere playing pool. I played in two sanctioned tournaments. One in Myrtle Beach, S.C., I finished 14th in this tournament. I played in one in Ohio and finished 2nd. I do play a mean game of pool, but traveling on the road is hard. Didn’t see many days, and sometimes slept in a pool room cause of the gambling. Living on the road taught me a lot about life. I still have the passion to play but don’t gamble anymore at it. Maybe, just maybe when my babies grow up I can try the pro tour again. Pool is just like any other job. Takes time. I use to play 6 to 8 hrs a day. Now I work 2 jobs and try to give my babies anything and everything they want and need. I came back home in 94 and started a real job. I still had a 2nd job at the pool room. That is where I met my husband Steve. No, he doesn’t play pool or care too. Steve and I done things backwards (imagine). We had Chris in 95. I was done having babies after that. Then 7 yrs later…surprise, Brice was born. Chris is 12. And he is the apple of my eye. At 8 his IQ was 135. Ok….don’t say it, got it from dad. But he is really a great kid. This is his 3rd year of band. He loves music and video games. Other than that, he could care less. Now Brice. Is my heart and soul. I know everyone of us has had our parents say I hope you have one just like you. Well I did. I can’t even begin to describe her. Her nickname is Rogue (as in X-Men). She is a prissy Tom Boy. She loves to dress up but will get out in the yard with all the boys from the neighborhood and hang with them. She started Kindergarten this year. Yes, my number is on speed dial with the school (not really). She just learned to ride her bike without training wheels and thinks she is all of that and a bag of chips. She is 5 going on 15. I myself work for a great company called Recovery Innovations of NC. We are a short term care for the Mentally Ill and Homeless. My job is mentally draining some days, but at the end of the day when you go home, you know you have helped someone. And ironically my second job is waitress/bartender at PK’s in Greensboro on the weekends. I get to hear a lot of great bands and meet a lot of great people. I think this page is great and look forward to seeing everyone in October.
