I am a firm believer in classmates staying in touch with each other and I absolutely love reunions, class or family. I married Jimmy Pace in 1961. Jimmy was Bob Smith's uncle and I think Bob was trying to get a good grade in Spanish when he got that started. We have been married 47 years and have three wonderful daughters, all three very bright and fun to be around. Dianne teaches 7th and 8th grade history at Jasper Junior High. Her room is just down the hall from where my Spanish classes were held. For a while in the late eighties, Dianne and I owned a book store/antique shop here in Jasper. It was fun, but my husband called it our expensive hobby. Jennifer, a graduate of Texas A & M, is married and is the mother of our only grandchildren.... Travis, who is a freshman in the Corp of Cadets at Texas A & M University (Gig 'em!!) and Laura who is in the 8th grade at Coppell Junior High North in Coppell. Katy, our third daughter, also a graduate of Texas A & M, works in Houston for Western GeCo, at one time a part of Western Atlas and now a part of Schlumberger.
My favorite hobby is genealogy, which I started during my junior year in college. About 7 years after Jimmy and I married, I found that my third great-grandfather settled her in 1825, so I just came home to Jasper after several generations. I guess that explains why I fell in love with the town almost immediately.
