He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Fedora; a sister, Dorothy; a son, Gary; and a grandson, Ruben.

Calvin Joseph Chicoine, 83, of Jefferson died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, at a Sioux City hospital. Mr. Chicoine was born Sept. 12, 1923, in rural Jefferson, the son of Fedora and Rose (Langle) Chicoine. He graduated from Jefferson High School. He married Leora Wennblum on Jan. 15, 1945, in Jefferson. He was a farmer in rural Jefferson. He was a life-long member of St. Peter's Catholic
