Don Seid - Class Of 1983

JEFFERSON, S.D. | Donald Eugene Seid, 48, formerly of Jefferson, passed away of a massive stroke Feb. 27, 2013, in Burbank, Calif.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 20, at ARK United Methodist Church, 130 Sodrac Drive, North Sioux City, with the Rev. Jeff Vore officiating.

Don Seid was born on Dec. 20, 1964, in Vermillion, S.D., the son of Gene and Sandy (Sederstrom) Seid. He was raised in rural Jefferson, where he graduated from Jefferson High School in 1983. Shortly after high school, he moved to Phoenix, Ariz., where he became the owner and operator of Arizona Sunglass Company. His business led him to travel the United States, where he took part in numerous festivals, fairs and swap meets. He met many new lifelong friends along the way.

In his spare time, you could find Don sunning himself at the beach in California or composing music, which he had a passion for. He enjoyed spoiling his nieces and nephews, taking care of his animals, and planting flowers. He had such a green gardening thumb, that Don could grow an apple tree from a seed.

Survivors include his parents, Gene and Sandy Seid; three sisters and their husbands, Leisa and Scott Sexton of McCook Lake, S.D., Linda and Bruce Saugstad of Marshall, Minn., and Drs. Laura and Mike Dickman of Owatonna, Minn.; two brothers and their wives, Dave and Nancy Seid of Phoenix, and Dan and Luci Seid of Lead, S.D.; 12 nieces and nephews and a grandniece, Brandon, Cody, and Allison Sexton, Austin, Morgan and Lexi Saugstad, Brice Stubben, Ashley Seid, Ford and Cody Summervold, Dylan Seid, Cora Dickman, and Shayla Sexton; maternal grandmother, Myrle Sederstrom of Ramona, S.D.; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and lifelong friends, Robert Candelaria, Jeff Southard, Brian Stark, and Bert Champagne.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Eldon Sederstrom; paternal grandparents, Clayton and Edith Seid; and a niece, Lauren Sexton.
