Melanie and I have been married since 1967. Our four sons are now married and three of them live in Joplin and one lives in St. Louis. We have six grandchildren in Joplin and a seventh will be born in September of this year. Since graduation from JHS and Westminster College in Fulton, Mo, I have been in the automobile business in both Joplin and Denver, a banker in Joplin, and a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones both in Raleigh, North Carolina, and in Joplin. I have been with Edward Jones in Joplin since 1992. Melanie and I attend the First Presbyterian Church which is the church in which we married.

Don, this is a great recap of your years in Joplin and the impact that they had on you for life. I share many of those general memories and feel exactly the same. We grew up in one of the most positive and enjoyable periods of the country's history, and we were well prepared for the turmoil and serious challenges that followed so quickly after our high school graduation. Thanks for sharing your story so beautifully.

I did receive your check and deposited it today. I had been waiting on some deposit slips. I ran out—a very good situation because of the response to our 60th. So glad you are coming. See you in October.

"Wooly" was one of the most unique and most fun guys in the Class of '63!  He loved to put his helmet in my gut when I foolishly played football my senior year.  It made him laugh--which is all that I cared about.  Our Class and our world has lost another really good one!
