Ira Leo Owens (Died March 22, 2011) Ira Leo Owens, age 58 of Webb City, Mo., passed away at 6:10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at his home after a 3-year battle with Cancer.
Born March 16, 1953 in Joplin, he was the son of the late Emory L. Owens and Esena I. Adamson Owens and lived in the Joplin area his lifetime. A machinist most of his working life, he taught in the Machine Shop at M.S.S.U. for the past 20 years. Ira was a Christian.
Survivors include a daughter, Kisha Owens of Oronogo, Mo.; a son, Brian Owens of Webb City, Mo.; siblings, Loretta Hartman and husband Ray of Wyandotte, Okla., Allen Owens and wife Ann of Joplin, Violet Vasquez of Joplin; one grandchild, Daisy Owens of Oronogo.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
Leo & I were married 5 yrs. Had 1 son, brian. Leo & I have been good friends 4 many years even as he wass struggling with cancer. I will miss him greatly. He loved fishing & had loads of friends.
