September 9, 1943 - April 13, 2015 

LIFELONG PSYCHOLOGIST, AUTHOR, EXPERT WITNESS AND FORENSIC PSYCHOLOGY SPECIALIST

Terence W. Campbell, Ph.D., born in Chicago, Illinois and a Troy resident for over 40 years. 

A Clinical and Forensic Psychologist, Terry obtained a Bachelor's Degree from Western Michigan University, and a Doctoral Degree in Human Development and Clinical Psychology from the University of Maryland.

He was a huge Detroit Tigers and Red Wings fan, and kept a scorebook of almost every Tiger game he watched on TV. 

He played hockey at Detroit Catholic Central while attending Thurston High School, and went on to play as a junior Red Wing and in college at Western Michigan University. 

Most important to Terry was his family and he constantly traveled to be with all of his children and grandchildren. 

Terry had his own private practice, authored 4 books, and frequently testified as an expert witness. He was a member of the American Board of Professional Psychology, and of the Scientific and Professional Advisory Board of the False Memory Syndrome Foundation of Philadelphia. 

Terry was also designated a Fellow of the American Psychological Society in recognition of a distinguished contribution to psychological science.

Loving husband of Sharon Kay for 32 years, married in 1982. Beloved father of Derek (Katie), Elisabeth Rivers (Larry). Step-father of David VanHoutte (Jay) and Michael VanHoutte (Kim). Cherished grandfather of 8: Meghan VanHoutte, Matthew VanHoutte, Willow Cheek, Karli Cheek, Declan Rivers, Jacob Rivers, Aurora Campbell and Hayden Campbell. Preceded in death by his parents, J. Frank and Dorothy Campbell. 

The family will receive friends Friday 4-8 p.m. and Saturday 12:30-1:08 p.m. at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Road (Between Maple and Big Beaver), 248-362-2500. 

Memorial Service Saturday at 1:08 p.m. (coincides with start of Tigers game).
