November 18, 1943 - February 10, 2014 Bob Hermanns, a Joliet, Illinois native, passed away unexpectedly on February 10, 2014 in Long Beach, California. A true Food Industry legend, Bob spent over 50 years doing what he truly loved. For the past five years, he served as Director of Food Industry Management Programs at the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business. Bob earned his undergraduate degree from Western Michigan University and graduated with his MBA from the Food Industry Management Program at USC in 1967. He served the industry in leadership roles at Jewel Food Stores and Topco in Chicago, Metro Gross Markets in Dusseldorf, Germany, Weis Markets in Pennsylvania, Red Owl Stores in Minnesota, Lucky Stores in both Northern and Southern California, American Stores in Salt Lake City, Associated Grocers in Seattle, and Park City Group in Park City, Utah. During his years with Lucky Stores and Associated Grocers, he served on the Board of Directors for WAFC. Bob is survived by his adoring wife and best friend of 40 years, Carolyn Hermanns; daughter and granddaughter, Stefanie and Sofia Stamires; son Robert J. "Jeremy" Hermanns (Erika); sister Sue Greene as well as countless nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Mary Hermanns, as well as his sister, Mary Fran Brusatori, all residents of Joliet, Illinois. He will be missed beyond words. Fight On!
