Brad (Bradford) Tisdale

1939-2023

Bradford Tisdale of St. Clair Shores passed away peacefully on June 8, 2023.

Bradford was born on March 22, 1939 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Edward Tisdale and Polly Sundt Tisdale. Bradford was raised in Grosse Pointe, Michigan where he graduated from Grosse Pointe High School in 1957.

After high school he attended Western Michigan University where he received his Bachelor’s degree. While attending Western Michigan he helped start and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He also met his future wife, Linda Rae Parsons at Western Michigan University. Bradford enlisted in the Air National Guard in 1961.

After college Bradford and Linda married on February 17, 1962 in Western Springs, Illinois. They moved to Grosse Pointe, Michigan where they raised three children and remained married for 58 years. Bradford worked in advertising and marketing for 37 years until his retirement in 1999.

avid sailor on Lake St. Clair and a member of the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club for 50 years. He spent many years in northern Michigan fly fishing and hunting and loved to spend weekends tending to his beautiful garden.

After Bradford retired, he and Linda traveled with many close friends and spent their winters in Hilton Head, South Carolina for over 20 years.

Bradford is predeceased by his loving wife, Linda and parents Edward and Polly. Bradford is survived by his cherished children; Scott Bradford Tisdale, Kristin Lynn Edmonson (Steven) and Kevin Brett Tisdale (Danielle); as well as four beloved grandchildren; Daniel, Megan, Jack Edmonson, and Bennett Tisdale.

A visitation will be held for Bradford on Saturday July 8, 2023 from 2-6PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Woods. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association at heart.org.
