Richard Alan Huegel passed away suddenly on November 28, 1998 in Apopka, Florida at the tender age of 55. He died from complications of diabetes which had worsened through the years. He was survived by two sons: Scott Huegel of London, England, and Andrew Huegel, also of Apopka Florida. He was also survived by his older brother: Raymond Huegel of Longwood Florida, and Nancy (Huegel) Gladney, of Cottage Grove Oregon.
Dick was most recently employed as a Manufacturers Rep. for several Optical companies in the U.S.
He is greatly missed for his wonderful sense of humor, keen wit, and bright mind. Dick remained a scratch golfer all of his life and at one point was a Pro for a Golf Club in St.Louis, Missouri. He also was active in Skeet and Trap shooting and Archery. His card skills were his "claim to fame" though, and he could beat most everyone at the bridge table, poker table, or at a hand of gin. He left us all way too early, and he will be forever missed and held in our hearts.

Dick, originally from Madison, WI, was Jerry Morris' little brother in the fraternity. Jerry has indicated that Dick pledged in the fall semester of 1962 and would have been initiated in the spring of 1963.)

Dick (nicknamed the “Deacon”) Huegel was my little brother in our fraternity – what a GREAT guy! I remember during one very cold semester break, he and I hitchhiked from Kalamazoo all the way to my folks’ house in Webster Groves, MO (St. Louis area). With that unforgettable “infectious” laugh of his, he kept our spirits high during the entire trip. Dick leaves behind a beautiful wife, and two wonderful sons. I will forever miss him……….and he “checked out” far too soon. R.I.P. Deacon…..R.I.P.
