I've reserved the Loose Park Pavilion 5100 Pennsylvania/Wornall Road - for the Sunday outing/picnic.  All day. (not that this will be an all-day event--they will only let you reserve it for the entire day on the week-ends). 

Pros for it are: 

1.  It is covered.

2.  It is centrally located. 

3.  Parking is close.

4.  A short walk to the Plaza / Art Fair. 

5.  Familiar territory to most everyone in our class.

Cons are:  (you tell me.)

What are we thinking about doing for Sunday?  If we are going to try to do something that people from out-of-town can attend before they (we) leave, it's going to have to be in the morning and not last too long so people can either hit the road or the airport (assuming most people will leave on Sunday but I could be wrong).  I was wondering about doing a breakfast/brunch at whatever hotel we wind up using for those of us coming in from out-of-town, open to everyone of course. Just a thought.

 Hi Barbara,  Thanks for your suggestions.  We need all the help we can get.  We have the Pavilion for the day.  Starting at 9.  So a brunch is certainly doable there.  Because the Plaza Art Fair is going on, I thought this would be a good central place for people to "reunite" at, drop in to converse and give them a base of operations after they have checked out of their hotel if they plan to spend the day in K.C. around the Plaza.  Plus, it is covered  if the weather doesn't cooperate.

I felt it a good idea to get something concrete because things are filling up fast around here. I could use some more committee members for the Sunday Event too. :-)

Mandy and Barb, I'm not on the commitee but I think you are both right. Meet at the park at 9:00 for breakfast provided  by the classmates that live here for the ones that are leaving to go home.  The ones of us that live here can walk down to the Plaza Art Fair after  We can have juice and coffee with fruit, rolls, bagels and some kind of breakfast scramble dishes. Simple and easy to put out and easy to clean up. A good way to have a last goodbye. Mandy, hope you can sell it to the others. THe simplier and less expensive it is the more people we can count on to come. Just my opinion. Roberta
