Mary Jo Knebel passed away in 1997. As many would remember, she was in an automobile accident our sophomore year which left her body quadriplegic. She spent her life in a state home and learned to paint beautiful pictures by holding and controlling the paintbrush between her lips. Her art and life were featured in the Kansas City Star. She was also a talented flutist and gymnast with an abundantly sweet character, a compassionate listener, and always a supportive optimist and friend. I'll try to collect specific data (I'm going on memory) and it would also be wonderful if someone had pictures of Jo that could be posted.
