Diane Aisquith Pell passed away on August 14, 2009. Diane was born on November 5, 1947, in Kansas City, Mo. She attended grade school in New Orleans and Kansas City and graduated from Southwest High School in 1966 and attended St. Mary's College. Diane is most well- known for owning Middle Class Values on Main Street since 1973, a branch of her mother's New York-based store. She was a hard-working entrepreneur of the best card shop in town. Diane was a brilliant buyer, full of wit and humor and an absolute loved fixture in the Main Street retail neighborhood. If you wanted a political conversation - Diane was your gal. Her cards and gifts brought joy and comfort to both the giver and receiver. Thank you, Diane, for providing a way to convey our feelings in such a special way. She will be missed by so many people whom she came into contact with and called friends. Diane was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Pell, and her father. Diane cared for her mother and dearly missed her after her passing last May. The survivors include brother Webster Pell and his wife of Corpus Christie, Texas, and Whitten and Nancy Pell of Kansas City, Mo., along with nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2009, from 1-3 p.m. A celebration of her life will be where Diane spent many years of her life, at 5010 Main Street, Kansas City, Mo.
