MAICHEL The Honorable John A. Maichel, 62, Overland Park, KS passed away Thursday, December 10, 2009. John was born in Kansas City, MO, on September 18, 1947. He attended Southwest High school and graduated from the University of Kansas where he was a member of Phi Kappa Psi. John received his law degree from UMKC and served as a Judge in Wayne County, Missouri. He was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Mic-O-Say tribe. He was also a longtime member of the Kansas City Rugby Club. John leaves behind his wife of thirty years Nancy M. Maichel (Orr), his three daughters Ellen Elizabeth of Melbourne, FL, Mary Katherine of Basehor, KS, and Lauren Marie of Overland Park, KS, his brother Theodore Russell Jr. and wife Linda of Kansas City, MO, as well as an extended family and many close friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Theodore Russell Maichel and Katherine Margaret Maichel. Memorial services will be held from 5- 7 p.m., Monday, December 14, and funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 15, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO, followed by burial at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Boy Scouts of America. (Arr.: Mt.
