Ted Sparks

Obituary

Stanley T. "Ted" Sparks, age 73, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2019, with family by his side. 

He was born in Butler, Missouri, on June 17th, 1946, to Lyle and Aleta Sparks  He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and graduated from Southwest High School.  After being in the Navy, he came back to Kansas City and worked at Calvin Productions in the camera department.  He started as a gaffer and worked his way through to cameraman.  He made training films, documentaries, sports films, he even traveled as a cameraman for the Kansas City Chiefs. 

Ted married Judy Carrier in 1970.  They raised their three children, Lisa Miller, Andy Sparks and Cindy Sparks in Prairie Village KS.  All survive him and will forever miss him.  He is also survived by five grandchildren, Mike Miller, (Courtney), Travis Miller, Cody Miller, Jade McVay and Max McVay.  He has one great-grandchild, Aspen Miller, and another great-grandchild on the way, due in November.   Ted is survived by his brother, David Sparks and sister, Susan Hrzenak (Robert).  He is also survived by many great friends (especially the "Tedo Tuesday" group) at Patrick's Bar and No Grill in Waldo. 

Ted lost his vision to Retinitis Pigmentosa when he was in his mid-thirties and successfully adapted his life to live with blindness.
